Chiropractic Neck Pain and Difficulty Swallowing Success Story

I get so excited being a chiropractor!  I get the joy of seeing people with chronic, unrelenting pain find relief and restore to optimal health through my chiropractic services.  I recently had one case of a young man who years after surgery to his neck he had been having a great deal of soreness and difficulty swallowing.  After evaluating him and going over his x-rays, I could clearly see the imbalances that remained in his spine.  This spinal imbalance causes the spinal joints to become restricted and fixated in motion which increases the pressure on the nerve.  When the nerve is irritated in this way, this pressure interferes with the normal nerve signals that are transmitted to the body and so not only did my patient have soreness, stiffness, and pain, but he also had a difficulty swallowing properly because the interfered nerves also control that function. 

So my man came in to see me, we did the evaluations, ran the x-rays, determined what the true cause of the issue was and immediately went to work correcting it.  I adjusted the vertebrae in his spine back to their proper position thereby relieving the pressure from the nerves.  Over the first couple days my patient felt a little sore following the adjustment.  This is actually a very natural response in the beginning, the body inflames as part of the healing process and usually within 24 hours the inflammation settles down and people begin to feel much better range of motion in the joints.  Within 2-3 visits, he began reporting that he was having much less pain in the area both in terms of intensity and frequency.  After 2 weeks of care, he was having day after day of no pain, soreness, or difficulty swallowing.  This is coming from someone who only a few weeks ago was having chronic, unrelenting discomfort that he didn’t know what to do about.  He has seen how chiropractic works and comes in for each of his appointments happier then the time before because he sees the results we are getting from care.
